Access Statement


 provide Four Star Gold Award self-catering accommodation set in a private courtyard, surrounded by beautiful and tranquil countryside, conveniently located between Huddersfield and Holmfirth, in the most northerly part of the Peak District National Park.  The accessible facilities we can provide are the Mistal and Stable are ground level cottages with no steps within or around the property.  Our third property is a first floor apartment.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • There is private car parking available approximately 25yrds down a very gentle slopping drive way. There are no handrails or ramps.

  • The car park holds up to six cars.

  • If required guests are able to unload and load at the cottage door.

Main Entrance & Reception

  • The Mistal and Stable are accessed within the courtyard. They both have low door thresholds, and the Mistal Cottage has a wide door way.

  • The Laithe is accessible from the courtyard up a full flight of stairs as it is a first floor apartment. 

  • The Mistal and Stable are hardwood floors.

  • The Laithe has wood stairs and a carpeted hall way.

Public Areas – General 

  • The courtyard is a flat area with no steps, ramps or handrails.

Public Areas – Laundry

  • All cottages have access to a ground floor laundry facilities.

  • The door way is narrower than a standard door way.


Dining & Living Areas

  • The Stable & Laithe have a separate dining kitchen from the living room.

  • The Mistal has an open plan living, dining kitchen. 

  • There are bright reading and table lamps in the living room areas.

  • The Stable and Laithe dining kitchen and Mistal open plan living, dining kitchen area have solid wood floors. 

  • The Stable and Laithe living rooms are carpeted floors.



  • The bedroom are all carpeted.  

  • The Laithe and Mistal are narrow down the sides of the beds. 

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC (Ensuite or Shared)

  • Each cottage has one bathroom.  

  • The Stable has a bath with overhead shower.

  • The Mistal and Laithe are shower rooms.

  • The Stable and Mistal are tiled floors.

  • The Laithe is a laminated floor

Self-Catering Kitchen

  • The kitchen in all cottages have hard wood floors. The Stable and Laithe adjoin the carpeted lounges.

  • The Mistal adjoins a hard wood hall way that leads to the bathroom and bedrooms.

Grounds and Gardens

  • The grounds and car park are cobbled, and tarmac. 

  • There are various potted plants around the courtyard.

  • The courtyard has various seating arrangements around the perimeters  and is suitable for outdoor dining.

Additional Information

  • Super-fast Fibre WiFi is available throughout the cottages

  • Fire alarms are wired into the electrical system.  They will light up when necessary but they do not vibrate.

  • Fire blankets are located in the kitchens.

  • There are no obstructions in the way of evacuation.
